1. How does Invisalign® work?

Invisalign® came about because people needed an alternative to metal braces.

While traditional braces are very effective at straightening teeth, many teens and adults find the bulky metal brackets and wires hard to fit into their active lifestyles.

Something less obtrusive was needed.

Invisalign® uses a series of digitally designed clear polymer trays or aligners to shift your teeth into their optimum position. The trays are exchanged for the next in the series about every two weeks.

The first step is digital impressions of your teeth. Then, a special computer software program called ClinCheck® is used to map out the needed movement of each tooth to reach the correct position. The aligners are created using this information.
