Meet Dr. Jay Zuroff DDS
My work as an orthodontist is one of the great loves of my life. Because orthodontics is continually advancing there is always something new to learn, and that keeps it fun and interesting. I love the new developments that allow me to better serve the patients who come to see me. I love the people who come in to see me for treatment and I am humbled by their faith in me. I always want to do my absolute best for them.
I received my Bachelor of Arts degree from Carroll College in Helena, MT, and continued on to the University of Minnesota, graduating with my Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 1988. I then attended the University of Washington where I earned my Master of Science in Dentistry and Certificate of Orthodontics. You can't provide great orthodontics without great people. The team of professionals that I work with are highly skilled and dedicated to excellence. Working with them to provide great smiles to our patients helps makes orthodontics fun for me!
Continuing education is a passion for me and I want to stay ahead on my education so that I can offer the very best treatment options to my patients. Over the course of my career I have focused on developing and learning orthodontic techniques that improve treatment outcomes, reduce the amount of cooperation needed from my patients, and reduce the costs to the patient. I attended the First World Micro-Implant Anchorage Congress In May of 2006 and have totally eliminated the need for headgear. I have also been very involved in Invisalign treatment over the past three years, taking multiple courses including the prestigious West Coast Invisalign Forum in the fall of 2009.
This year, my team and I attended the Invisalign Orthodontic Summit, spending 3 days learning about the latest advances in Invisalign techniques. I am also involved in other areas of orthodontics, recently publishing an article in the American Journal of Orthodontics. My community is very important to me. I have been a Pasco Kennewick Rotary member since 1992 and I work in the Elephant Ear booth at the Benton county fair every year. I am the orthodontic provider for the Rotary Orthodontic scholarship program which provides free orthodontic treatment for two local young people each year. I also serve as Orthodontic Advisor to the Southeast Washington Cleft Palate team.
I have lived in Kennewick, WA, for 20 years with my wife, Anja, our daughter, Lara, and our sons, Thor and Erik. I love to spend time outdoors fishing, skiing, riding motorcycles, and scuba diving. I also have a blazing fast sport bike that I love to ride. Lately, I have been spending most of my leisure time taking my five-year-old son, Erik, camping and fishing. There is nothing else that I would rather do.
